The morning after christmas 2022 on hood canal. There was a king tide that came up over the stone wall. A king tide occurs when the sun, moon, and earth are in alignment and the combined gravitational pull causes water levels to rise dramatically. I took this recording right next to the pilings where the dock is connected. You can hear the water hitting the metal and wood as it knocks it around. The water eventually washed over the road.

Autorickshaw: a field recording made in bangalore india, of a ride home in an autorickshaw. This was long before the days of electric autorickshaws (~year 2000), so the recording is the sound of the nasty, polluting-well-above-its-weight two-stroke petrol-engine variety. I was going home from a night out with with several friends spread out over three autorickshaws and sometimes you can hear the others in the recording. (the picture is not the actual autorickshaw in the recording, the photo is from pakistan. I didn't get a photo of the one in the recording, but you get the idea. ). Recorded on sony minidisc.

A pistol being dry fired once. I created this sound back in 2019 using multiple recordings of an airsoft browning hi-power replica that i mixed together until it turned into this early 00s video game-y type clicky dry fire sound. A stark recording of a bunch of northwest winds whipping through a small town. This was recorded in december 17th 2013 during the height of the frenzy of the holiday season. I think that it why i enjoy this recording so much -- the lonely yet comforting desolate wind in contrast to the frenetic sensory overload that the holidays can sometimes be. The wind chimes are a nice touch too. Recorded on my front porch using my zoom h4n recorder and it's internal stereo microphones with the record volume on 80.

For this jazzyloop i used. Drumbot. Compiano chordsrandom progressionminor, 4 chords, 80 bpm, oo_odm, cm, c#6, f#9had to record straight to audacity. No export function. Drumbotcountry & folksmothness made a 4 bar drum sequence and exported as wav. This site (drumbot. Com) had no "bass function". . . Quick search led me to onlinesequencer. Nethere i made a bass line to the chords in 80bpm. Here you can only export to mid. . . Once again i had to record straight to audacity. Result this loop. No processing in audacity.

Noise of a solar power dc-ac inverter on a sunny day. A static hum with some kind of a rhythmic modulation. Sometimes other noises like a bird singing outside, however mostly the pure sound of the inverter. Recorded x/y stereo with at4041 mics into a pmd661 recorder. Eqed in fabfilter, there used to be a sine beep at 15. 8khz, inaudible for many people but it would have been even more annoying for those who can still hear it.

This sound was created artificially. In general, it consists of four main layers. 1. The sound of noise overboard (created from white noise). 2. The sound of clanking of the inner skin synchronously with the sound of wheels (created from white noise). 3. Metallic noise. Created from the sound of bolts shaken in a metal can. 4. Actually the sound of wheels (created from ten sounds of various metal and percussion). A rather complicated equalization was applied, and filtering in several stages. Also, the sum of the sounds is processed by the convolutional reverb.
