01. 03. 17: happy new year, everyone. This is one of a couple of mouth swooshes i made for a papier-mâché style animation. Sweep up, small break, then a mouthy impact. Recorded with iphone 6s, edited and processed in logic.

Sound is a home-made circuit bent walkie talkie fashioned into a sort of opto-theremin. Main fx used to process it: boss xtortion and wattson superfuzz, with various other fx switched on and tweaked in the middle. Very much like a chainsaw in the beginning. . . That or a motorbike. The "reving engine" effect was created by blocking the amount of light going to the photocell (which was ripped out of a furby!).

Gem pathescope 9. 5mm projector, unit #1191, made in england. Recorded on a marantz pmd661 with a rode nt4 stereo mike. The gem is a variable speed projector, controlled by a rheostat. Speed for this recording was unknown, but probably 12-16 fps. Microphone was facing the operational side of the projector, 50 cm away. Audio begins with power being turned on, ends with power being turned off. The speed variation during recording occurred naturally.

A short, gently alarmed sound i made for negative user feedback events in apps and games. I used native instruments' massive, starting from a patch i originally authored for synthesizing parrot chirps! this sound might also be useful for more generic button duties.

It was made with extraordinary plugins erhu guzheng yangquin and a sense of extraordinary expression, valley reverb, and glides. Authentic expression of chinese traditional instruments is hard to imitate so this scene is very short, but useful. As always, my sounds are free, but i'd like to hear your artworks when using a sound, or part of a sound. Also, it is a pleasure to me, if you're referencing this source in your credits.

I was trying to make some floaty meditation type music like people use for hypnotherapy and yoga and stuff but accidentally made something fractionally too menacing. To me it sounds like something you might have in the background of a scene where viewer is contemplating an unexpected cosmic vastness or an ancient alien artefact or something otherwise mindblowing but also potentially existentially threatening.

This sound is made by my old continuity meter when the contacts are moved around. The clicking sounds similar to that of a more modern geiger counter or dosimeter. I have heard a few over the internet and some of them produce a beeping noise when the max range of radiation level is reached. Please feel free to used this sound. And remember to rate and comment. This is a recording i made on sunday november 4th 2012 of the gentle, droning sounds of insects that were singing in a marshy area near the shore of a small lake. This is a very typical ambiance of autumn in the southern portion of illinois. If you listen carefully, you'll hear another very typical fall sound, the cry of blue jays in the heavy woods which surround this lake. One of my favorite sound-scapes. I made this with my rugged and dependable handy zoom h4n recorder, using its built-in microphones. I literaly had it sitting on a small log only about 15 feet from the water's edge. Because the insects were not very loud, i did have to crank up my record volume to 86 on the scale of 100; this means you will hear a little bit of slight wind rumble, but all-in-all i think the recording paints a good picture of the early autumn landscape and everything slows down and winds down for the bitter winter ahead. Enjoy.

I made this one a morning while having a cup of strong java. It's done in garageband for a thing called victors crypt. Made a drumbeat with open hi-hat. After 4 rounds the hi-hat closes and a cowbell comes in. Did a bassline to go with the beat. Then i added instruments on top of that. Starts out pretty mellow in minor, dark. Then builds up with the bass, and after that a loud synthesizer and back to a more mellow part. I think it's a bit spacey/sci-fi. That's why i named it "exit planet terror". The sound of a bright march morning featuring cardinals, robins announcing their territory, and wrens. The temperature was right at 50 degrees with no wind. I made this recording with my marantz pmd661 using two samson co-2 microphones. , pointed 180 degrees apart to gather as much sound as i could. The sound was sometimes a cacophony as it seemed all of the neighborhood birds were so happy that spring is finally here, many times they were all singing at once. !.

Part of "semiloopdrumsamples" package, please dl the whole package. . With 'semilooped' i mean that only the ride and hihat are longer loops and the kick and snare is separate for better flexibility. I only made basic patterns tho as this package is mostly meant for creating custom playalong/click tracks. No eq's, i'll let the user do that. . Again for flexibility. All samples are stereo(48khz24bitflac), since the sound of the kick naturally leaks in the overheads and the overheads are a big part of the snare sound.

This is a recording of the doppler heart monitor that doctors use to check out baby's heart during pregnancy checkups. This was was made on february 28, 2007 at sutter in berkeley, ca by plugging my marantz recorder into the doppler instrument. There is a bunch more that is my wife's and the baby's intermingled (with the recorder plugged in we had no way to monitor), but this is the section that has the fetus isolated. If anyone is interested in the whole thing, let me know and i'll put it up.

I made this while hunting some thunder strikes (my bike'n'thunder series).

This is a recording of children playing in the large playground at the luxembourg gardens in paris, france. The recording was made from the east side of the playground, next to an attraction that allows kids to hang from a sort of harness and slide down a rail. The metallic clink you hear periodically is the sound of the runners on this gadget banging into each other as kids jump off of them. This is a recording made just outside my window. A helicopter flew over just a minute later, twice! i used a cheap large diaphragm condensor mic, with a plastic bendable tube around it, pointing just outside of my window.
